A great (and cheap!) way to see Brisbane in half a day is to catch the CityCat public transport ferry for a sightseeing ride along the Brisbane river. You can catch the ferry at a number of points along the river but we recommend getting on at either end for the complete experience. A suggested itinerary is to park your car at the University of Queensland (UQ) and catch the ferry from the there. Get off at the Sydney Street terminal just past the CBD and walk along the river bank path (some sections actually float on the river!) back towards the city. Catch the ferry again going back South this time from Eagle St Pier or if you have the energy, walk around the botanic gardens to the QUT terminal. Ride the CityCat back to UQ where you started.
